Technique for the collection of Mid-Stream Urine (MSU)

As part of the South Warwickshire project work they have been looking at the number of people who have UTI’s, including antibiotic spend, ways to reduce admissions and MSU sampling. 

A number of urine samples are contaminated which either means the patient is incorrectly prescribed (or not) antibiotics or the sample will have to be repeated.

To support patients and practices in acquiring the best urine sample, we have developed a male and female poster on how to collect a MSU sample. We hope you will use them in your practice.
