Prescriptions

Ordering repeat prescriptions

At Budbrooke Medical Centre we dispense medications to the vast majority of our patients via our in-house dispensary. This means patients will pick up their medications from the surgery directly rather than take a prescription to a pharmacy to get it dispensed. This is for acute and routine medications.

We pride ourselves on our personalised service and responsiveness to your requirements. Please don’t hesitate to contact our Dispensary Manager Amy Lyons or a member of her team by either email (dispensary@budbrookemc.nhs.uk) or by telephone 01926 403881.

You can request a repeat prescription using the apps links below (NHS App or Patient Access). You can also ask dispensary to put your repeat medication on automatic reorder. This can be completed by the dispensary team as long as your medication reviews are in order.

If you nominate a pharmacy instead of Budbrooke, please sign up with a pharmacy and agree arrangements for them to manage your prescriptions, as each organisation may differ.

Please wait for a text message before collecting your prescription. If are unable to receive text messages then please allow 2 working days before collecting your prescription.

Please allow 2 working days before collecting your prescription, please allow extra time around the bank holidays.

If you haven’t received a text message from the dispensary team within 48 hours, please call us on 01926 403 800

Why can I not see all my medications on the repeat prescription list?

The doctor who prescribed your medication will decide whether it will be listed as a repeat medication on your records. This is a safety issue to ensure you are reviewed appropriately before any further medication is prescribed for you. If it is appropriate for you to order further prescriptions of the medication online it will be available for you to see and order when you login.

What do I do if I require an emergency prescription?

Please call the dispensary on 01926 403881, who will be happy to help you.

  • The dispenser will need to liaise with a GP if you require an acute item
  • If you have recently been in secondary care or seen a consultant who agreed a medication change our dispensing staff can also arrange this, or alternatively you can send your request using our webform and please mention your urgency in the comments.
  • Emergency contraception – Please contact reception if you have had unprotected intercourse and an appointment will be arranged for you
  • Emergency supply of the pill – Please contact reception and they will arrange a call back from the nurse.

PN: this should not be a regular way to obtain your pill as you should be seen every 6 months for this medication for safety.
